Affiliates were asked “Do commission payment policies (how often a program pays) affect your decision to promote an affiliate offer?” for the 2011 Affiliate Summit AffStat Report.
Fifty-nine percent of affiliates responded “yes” for this survey question.
This is somewhat of a non-issue for affiliate programs running in affiliate networks, since they have aggregated, monthly payments for the average affiliate.
But it comes into play with the big players, especially PPC affiliates, who are putting out significant expenditures and want/need weekly commission payments to invest back into their businesses.
