Affiliates were asked “How do you typically find out about new affiliate programs? Select all that apply.” for the 2013 Affiliate Summit AffStat Report.
Finding the information on a merchant site was most common with 51.3% of affiliates, followed by affiliate managers reaching out to the affiliates at 42.4%.
Other common answers were searches in the search engines, checking out competitor’s sites, and within the network sites.
When I am looking to apply to an affiliate program, I am typically in the camp of the most common choice, as I know I want to promote a specific company, and I visit their site to look for affiliate program details.
