Online and Offline Affiliates

January 22, 2010 by Shawn Collins

Q: I’m promoting a Real Estate Investing Event and personally know the owners of company running the event. They have a website where people will make payment for the Event and I just wanted to ask you what’s the best way to track the traffic and conversions I generate? I’ll be using both online and offline advertising but nothing like PPC – it’ll be radio advertising, integration marketing (having people promote to their lists), and classified postings etc. Please let me know as soon as you can I’d be very grateful for your help.

Shawn CollinsA: I’d suggest using a combination of approaches. With the radio advertising and classifieds, try pay per call tracking, assuming this is supported by the tracking for the event.

And with the other forms of marketing, use sub-IDs in your affiliate links, so you can identify the sources of each click and lead. You’ll just append a unique identifier for each person who has a list (the format varies depending on the type of tracking you are using).
