The affiliate fatblogging efforts are in full effect with a loss for the third week in a row, albeit just a single pound. Beats hitting a plateau, so it’s cool with me.
One thing I did last week, which I probably haven’t done since high school back in the 80’s, was to exercise five days in a row.
This week is a little tricky, since I went to the Late Show with David Letterman yesterday, and have a conference tomorrow, so I’m basically tied up for two days this week.
But it’s definitely a help to have this gym I recently joined, because they have all sorts of indoor options – basketball, squash, swimming, etc.
I am planning to give squash a try, so anybody who knows what’s what with squash rackets, feel free to post a comment with an affiliate link, because I need to buy one.
Also, I just switched over to using Gmail after working in Outlook since the 90’s. You might be thinking that Gmail has nothing to do with getting more healthy, but I have an angle for you.
I’ve got Gmail and Remember the Milk (for tasks) on both my Blackberry and iPod Touch, so I am able to be more efficient when working out.
In the past, I had my email POP accounts pulled into my Blackberry, but when I’d go for a walk, all of the activity on the Blackberry was duplicated in Outlook. When I returned home, I’d have to file away the sent messages and those emails I’d already deleted or handled while I was out.
But with Gmail and Remember the Milk, I’m always in sync with my desktop when i do stuff on my Blackberry or iPod Touch.
I suppose I could have done something similar in the past with IMAP, but I didn’t. Anyhow, it saves some time to be able to maintain a live version of email, tasks and calendar when I’m out (I used to have to sync up the Blackberry to my PC).
Long story short – Gmail is helping me lose weight.
