Getting Approved by Affiliate Programs

August 9, 2008 by Shawn Collins

Q: I am new to affiliate marketing and I used a template page when I signed up for the networks. My plan was to market credit card companies. My problem is that nobody is accepting me for their affiliate programs, because I am new. So how do I get started?

Shawn CollinsA: I think you are putting the cart before the horse to a degree. I would guess that the reason nobody is accepting you is that there is nothing going on at your site, but this template.

I would encourage you to put on some unique content of your own, and give people a reason to come to your site.

The affiliate programs where you are applying are likely figuring you have very little traffic coming to your site if it’s a skeleton with no unique value proposition.

So churn out some unique material and re-apply. I think that should give you a positive result.
