It’s been a year since I first tried out BetterPPC, and I decided to check in with them to see how things are going.
Last year when I tested the service, I saw my performance increase three-fold for my Google AdWords campaigns.
According to their literature, the average CTR improvement for a campaign in their system is 38% in 7 days.
If you are not familiar with it, BetterPPC is a service that enables easy to set up, scientific ad copy testing and optimization for AdWords.
Since I first tried it out, the interface has improved – looks like they are on v.3. It’s slicker and I just put together a new test inside of five minutes.
The way it works is that you enter three different variations for each section: Headline, Line 1, and Line 2. For each line entry, you enter in a different variation or copy that you would like to test. Your entries will be used to create different test case combinations of advertisements.
The last step is to enter in the display and linking URLs for your ad. After you click submit, the BetterPPC application will automatically generate 54 possible test cases. Then their algorithm will select nine ads representing the optimal test case combinations of ads.
