Estimated $1 Billion Earned From Google AdSense in 2005

February 10, 2006 by Shawn Collins

There is a new report ContentBiz, a MarketingSherpa publication, that estimates online publishers who placed Google’s AdSense contextual ads on their sites made about $1 billion last year.

The report includes some how-to tips for affiliates to get a piece of that substantial pool of commissions. Some of the tips, suggested by Tim Carter, Joel “Dr. AdSense” Comm and others were:

  • Put the ads as close to your content as possible.
  • Test multiple ads
  • Create content to match most expensive AdSense clicks
