Q: What is the going rate for an affiliate manager that works off-site?
A: The rates and arrangements vary, depending on whom you bring on.
I’ve seen some outsourced affiliate managers working for as little as $2500 per month, but it seems that $5000 or more, plus a percentage of the transactions referred by affiliates is more common.
And the rates rise in excess of $10,000 per month with some agencies.
I hear from many companies that they’d like to hire an affiliate manager on a purely performance basis.
However, the market doesn’t bear this sort of arrangement. There are not many qualified folks, and you will find that you get what you pay for.
In the next month, I will be publishing new affiliate manager salary data in the AffStat 2005 Report.
