CJ advertisers are going gangbusters so far for the Christmas season.
Based on preliminary numbers (subject to change with corrections), Commission Junction advertisers have outperformed overall online retail figures from comScore for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
When comparing same store sales (keeping the group of advertisers consistent year to year), the sales driven through CJ for their advertisers outpaced numbers comScore reported for online overall. The numbers above the bars show Year over Year (YoY) growth.
The good news isn’t restricted to the big shopping weekend, though. Numbers were up across the entire month of November 2010 for comScore and CJ.
And the 2010 Christmas shopping season isn’t over, yet. While Cyber Monday surpassed $1 Billion in U.S. spending to make it the heaviest online shopping day in history, next Monday (or Tuesday) is expected to be the biggest online shopping day of the year.
Also, there is a big winter mess expected this weekend, combined with the expected extension of the Bush tax cuts – this could be a perfect storm for Internet commerce records.
