New York, November 16, 2005 – Performics, the performance-based marketing division of DoubleClick Digital Advertising Solutions, today announced that its affiliate marketing client, Sears.com earned recognition as the Best Affiliate Marketing Campaign at the Ninth Annual ad:tech Awards Ceremony Monday in New York City. Sears, Roebuck and Co. worked with Performics to develop new categories for Web publishers and creatively drive sales through the affiliate channel.
“Many Web publishers were not realizing the potential of Sears.com and some of its best performing product lines,” said John Joseph, vice president, affiliate marketing at Performics. “By working closely with some of or our top publishers, we were able to leverage the strength of Sears, Roebuck and Co.’s broad product lines, introduce new categories on the publishers’ sites, and generate significant incremental revenue for Sears.com and the publishers.”
For example, Upromise, one of the first affiliates to make this adjustment, saw immediate results after the change, with one Sears.com product category now generating 56 percent more revenue through Upromise than it had prior to the adjustment. Overall affiliate sales were boosted by these promotions and an overall growth of sales volume, with active affiliates increasing by nearly 90 percent over last year. Additional categorical initiatives for the Sears.com affiliate marketing program are still underway.
