The instructions that come with the headset are un-necessary because the set up is so obvious. With one limitation that makes them also irrelevant. They tell you that the two plugs are for mike and ear pads respectively. They tell you this with little icons, suggesting that the leads can be identified that way. They can't. The leads are differentiated by color, pink for the mike lead, green for the earphones. I could quickly identify them by trial and error. I also noticed that a P (for pink) is a bit like a mike, a knob on a stick, and a G (for green) looks like a pair of earphones.
I would also like to add to this post a general comment about buying electronics online. It probably applies equally to other products but I haven't checked them. I needed a power cord for my Mac. I looked on Amazon. As I recall they were about $30 plus shipping. Reading the reviews I got the impression that most of the one star reviews reflected reports of units that failed. The failure rate seemed to be about 10%. So I thought, am I willing to take a 10% risk of failure on a $35 purchase. Well, I admit, I'm a bit of a tightwad, so I decided to see if I could lower my risk and went to look at the Apple Store. Here the price is up in the $60 range. I felt sure that this would be reflected in a lower failure rate. To my great surprise the failure rate at Apple is the same. So my conclusion is you lower your risk with the lower price and once in a while you have to buy a replacement.
Cons:Microphone level is not as strong as it could be so you may need to speak louder than you might with some competing models.
I like the fact that the cable goes to only one of the ear-cups, meaning you don't have that "Y" cable dropping down below your chin. It feels less constricting. I use this to dictate notes to be recorded later for training videos ti help disabled vets transition to corporate careers. Would I buy it again, YES! At this price I can buy a few and give them to random people as Christmas presents.
Thumbs up for price, and product, and thumbs up for you! If my review helped please thumbs up back :)
The audio quality is more than adequate for professional/business audio/video calls (I work in telco, too).
It worked well with a macbook, iPhone, and Nexus 6.
One of the wires started to degrade after 5 months. I taped it with electrical tape and that was ugly but functional.
At the 9 month mark, the mic mouthpiece snapped, and was left dangling by exposed wires.
I would plan on getting less than a year out of this item with heavy usage, but much longer with light usage.
