1. How Big is Affiliate Summit?
The Affiliate Summit passes are going fast. As of today, registrations are 50% higher than they were for Affiliate Summit 2005. If you haven't registered already, the rates to register for Affiliate Summit are $1,449 (full conference) and $299 (exhibit hall only).
Visit https://www.regonline.com/90769 to register.
The last two conferences sold out a couple of weeks in advance and passes were being sold for well more than face value on eBay.
If you're interested in having a promotional item in each attendee bag, you have to get all of your material to our fulfillment company by June 23. Book the Promotional Attendee Bag Distribution sponsorship for $1,000 at http://www.regonline.com/91108.
2. Things Mainstream Affiliates Won't Promote
There were some threads on ReveNews a while back about whether they should have coverage of the adult and gaming industries. Responses were divided on the subject with some affiliates vehemently against the adult and gaming industries.
That got me curious about whether affiliates in the so called mainstream - those who generally promote retail offers - are willing to promote adult, alcohol, gaming, pharmaceutical and tobacco affiliate programs.
In speaking recently with some folks running gaming affiliate programs, many of them are proactively recruiting top performing retail affiliates, so I'd imagine that practice is also being explored by the other controversial categories.
I surveyed a couple hundred affiliates with the question, "Would you promote affiliate programs in the following categories?," and also gave them the opportunity to share their candid thoughts on these types of affiliates programs.

6. What Happened to Speed Networking at Affiliate Summit?
I've had a handful of people ask why the speed networking session was dropped from the Affiliate Summit agenda.
Back in 2003 when I came up with the idea to have speed networking (hybrid of speed dating and networking) at the conference, we had a comparably small crowd.
As we've scaled up, the speed networking concept has become more problematic. The more people that sign up, the more difficult it is for everybody to get the arranged matches the request.
Combine that with no shows and the occasional glitch in the matchmaking process, and you've got an idea that has seen better days.
So anyway, the next Affiliate Summit (taking place July 9-11) will feature a new method for networking magic - Bingo Networking.
