Cyber Monday 2012 was the Heaviest U.S. Online Shopping Day in History

comScore has reported that there was $1.465 billion in online spending on Cyber Monday 2012, which is up 17% from 2011. That makes Cyber Monday 2012 the biggest online shopping day in history.

Last year on Cyber Monday, there was $1.25 billion in online shopping, an increase of 22% over 2010.

Cyber Monday 2011 had been the biggest online shopping day in history at that time.

Some other exciting numbers from comScore on the sustained growth of online shopping include a 16% increase this year for November 1 – 26 over 2011, as well as a 32% year over year increase on Thanksgiving Day.

Additionally, there was a 15% increase in online shopping from 2011 to 2012 for the weekend between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Great to see all of these positive indicators as we head towards Affiliate Summit West 2013, which will be the biggest turnout in the ten year history of the affiliate marketing conference and tradeshow.
